I recovered this object from an empty lot next to a school in Indiana. There used to be a home there in the 1950's. The item appears to be made of brass and is quite ornate. It has a crest in the middle showing what appears to be a king's crown and a queen's crown along with two crosses against white backgrounds with small flowers. It is about 4.5 cm by 4.5 cm (or slightly less than 2 inches across). The backside lacks any writing and has a small ring at the top plus what appears to be two hinges or clasps for a missing pin. I do not know what this is or what it may have been used for- a broach? did it hang on a ribbon as a medal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
