✅ SOLVED Mystery Mark on Necklace

I'm new here. I did not find this necklace using a metal detector, so please feel free to school me if it's a no-no asking for help here :-)

I would be pretty sure this is sterling silver, except that it's missing the typical tell-tale signs. It has one mark on it and I can't find anything on the internet that tells me what it is. Perhaps someone here will recognize it?

That's an American Eagle clothing-brand logo. Modern, probably, my wife loves to shop there. They do put out some cheap self-branded steel jewelry.
