Calling all military buffs!!! :director:
I dug this chain link up at a site where there was WW1 & WW2 training during those war periods. I found a WW2 radio receiver tag from the same site a few weeks back.
I have no idea what these links may have belonged too, but a fellow TN member suggested possibly:

"The links look like there from an old Browning 30mm Machine Gun."

Does anyone know what I have here? They are plated metal. I'm hoping it is military related so I can add it to the display case I am making for the local museum.
Thanks for and info,
MM

I don't think so Doug... Normally once the rounds are fired the links fall into seperate pieces... That is something else...

On the bright side - it's still a "whatsit"!

Thanks Jim.
Possibly part of a bracelet from Elvis, or part of the chain that once held Bigfoot? ??? :icon_scratch: :tard: ;D
Hope you're doing well big guy.

I'm staying occupied Doug... and hanging in there. I'll be a lot better in a few months.

It seems I've seen something like that before but cannot place it... :icon_scratch:

i have seen that type of link used in sword hangers...?

30 cal was a canvas belt, at least the ones i have handled.

I can tell you that those have nothing to do with machine guns or military for that fact. I see that it looks plated. My guess would be part of a fashion belt one would wear to hold their pants up.

I'm thinking, possibly chain-link conveyor belt, but I haven't yet found an identical example.
I'll search a bit more.

Glad someone said .30 caliber instead of 30 mm! That would be a cannon shell. No, I don't think it is a link for a machine gun either. Monty

Doug, can you pull and re-attach those links together?

I used to pick up helicopter machine gun links and make a belt out of them.

We were early rambo`s ;D

I can do whatever you want me to with the links, but it's going to cost you. :tongue3:
I guess this find goes in the circular file.
