This is a lead object that was found at an early fort site (on private property with the owner's permission) that dated from the late 1850's to the early 1880's. Many of the items found at this site were Civil War era and I'm hoping someone can ID this find.

It is made out of lead, has a hole going all the way through it, and has no marking of any kind on it. Any help identifying this object would be great! It has had me stumped for about 11 years now.

Plumber's use hand pumps for pumping out toilets when it's time to replace them . It looks like what goes on the end of the small hose that's on those pumps .

Since it's lead, I'm making a wild guess here, but it looks to me like it is a old carved bullet lead. It just loooks like someone just did a little fancy carving and stretching of the cartridge. Hope you are able to find out what it is. WTG
