The square base makes me think it was a hard to turn door knob, since the old locksets had a square receiver.

Whats the diameter of the square end?

well done bone lever it is,i knew it was something medical has soon as i saw it,but didnt know for what,maybe it was used to fix up those wounded in the roman games,i found it about 1.5 miles outside the city.
