Not sure of size, but it resembles a holder for a block plane blade.

Reed from a pump organ. there should be a letter stamped on one end that tells what note it is. :thumbsup:

Why would somebody use an brass organ reed for a hand plane "adjusting plate"?

Note the reed is broken off.

If you look on the right part of that piece (in the 1st photo) you will see the note. Looks like a D or possibly a G.
Definitely not from any plane. Hope this and the other comments helps you.
