Went back to the small field where I pulled NJ copper few weeks back. Only had an hour before sundown so tried different frequency on the Deus and went slow. Found a bunch of wheaties +some clad. Towards the end I dug a deep target and this large copper came out. Approx 27mm, toasty! It's similar thickness to us LC but don't know what it can be. Only see what appears to be MVS (partial lettering?)

Anyways I'm stumped, hopefully someone can shed light on the coin (whatever is left of it)

Thanks for looking & happy hunting team!

Looks like you might have yourself a William III copper there. Nice!

Well played sir. You boys have done quite well as of late. Congrats!

Nice finds. My guess would be a King George III copper. Many counterfeits were imported here as well as others made in NY at Machins Mills..

Thanks bud, when are you due up here?

We will arrive in Newark (on an airplane!) on the morning of Friday the 15th. You can't miss us, but just in case... I enclosed a picture!

Nice finds. I found this about your pendant... The pendant is a religious medal of some kind. The words are written in Greek letters, but I'm pretty sure they're not actual proper Greek words. The one side says "Gennesis", with presumably Adam and Eve.
The other says "Baptisis", with presumably John the Baptist. Both the use of incorrect Greek inscriptions and the affusion method of baptism depicted here indicates it is not a Greek Orthodox medal.

Not sure it's a coin, maybe a token? Looks old. - Coin Community Forum

Thanks for additional info on this! Wonder if it's old or modern? [emoji57]

Great finds. What did you clean the us pin with.

BART!!!!!

I'm still stuck on that copper since you sent me pics. I did a overlay and the William 3rd doesn't quite match but I did a side by side ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1459990920.729348.jpg

Anyway, buddy I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of this one. Have you looked/compared to any state coppers?
