SOLVED! Mystery "coin" from Spanish colonial site in Colombia

Hi (again) Everyone,

Another "coin" was found at this Spanish colonial site I am detecting this past weekend. It's in quotes as I'm not sure it's even a coin. It was broken in half when I found it and then I accidentally broke it again when trying to determine whether it was silver or not (stupid I know but I thought it might be aluminum at first). The fact that I was able to break it easily with my hands, though, means it isn't silver, correct?

Does anyone have any idea what it is? Many thanks in advance!

EDIT: Solved please see post #5 below... Thanks to everyone for your comments.

Yes, to bad about the condition but great find.
