I went prospecting on a local river for gold and surprisingly I found an 1857 seated half dime! Boy was I surprised. I was checking on some cracks for gold with my detector and it gave a solid 70 on my AT Pro. Wow! That's been in those rocks for maybe 150 years!....sweet find!

Awesome 1/2 dime find, they are so small! :occasion14: I would hit that river and look for a swimming hole of some sort.

Have you had any luck finding gold?

While sluicing yes! Just started prospecting 3-4 months ago. No gold while detecting though. I have an ATP which obviousely is not a gold machine. But you just never know.

That is just killer. Congrats on a sweet little find!
