Mystery Button

I have a huge button collection and this button remains an enigma to me. I have never
seen one like it before. I found it in a bag of old buttons I bought at a flea market a year or so ago.
Anyone have any idea what it is. It appears to be a nail or railroad spike thing. It is all silver metal.
Any one have any ideas. I apologize for my not so good pictures.
