I found this button in a field in Luxembourg.
There appears to be some sort of an eagle on the front.
The part of the back mark which is legible reads "R & SHEYER RLIN"
I assume it is some sort of military button but I do not know where from.
I also do not know how old it would be.
Any help appreciated.

Thank You!

Does that say "Mohr & Greyer" and "Berlin" on the back of the button?

It does now that you point that out but it most defiantly says Sreyer instead of Greyer
Thanks for the reply!

A more-specific ID of your button:
It shows the eagle emblem of the Prussian Empire. (Note the crown above the Prussian eagle's head.) Prussia was the pre-20th-Century name for the area now called Germany. Your button was worn by Prussian Army NCO's (non-commissioned officers) in the latter-1800s until World War One ended. Defeat in that war ended the Prussian Empire, the emperor (Kaiser Wilhelm) was removed, and Germany became a Republic.
