Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

That’s rather splendid. It’s Majolica-ware and the bridge with two towers plus a stylised ‘G’ is a late 19th Century mark attributed to Julius Greiner & Sohn of Bodenbach, in operation from 1871. Some fleabay sellers say this is Dresden-ware and some say it’s Czech/Bohemian, but it’s neither. The confusion probably arises from the fact that there are two municipalities in Germany called ‘Bodenbach’ and it was also the old German name for what is now ‘Podmokly’ in the Czech Republic. However, Greiner operated from another town, also called Bodenbach, in Austria.
