Good morning all. I picked up this unusual little pottery planter pot at a yard sale in southern Arizona back in February for $.50. It measures 9" in length by 6" in height. It appears to be signed "Macklin '72" on the bottom. The unique styling and quality craftsmanship caught my eye. For example, the tusks or teeth are very narrow and have a pass through behind them. Crazy to think that they haven't broken off in over 40 years. As far as what type of animal, I really can't say. Foo dog or dinosaur, perhaps? Have a look at the pics and if you can offer any insight, I'd love to hear it! Thanks, and happy hunting!

Looks like a school project fashioned after the mack truck mascot

I can see the resemblance to the Mack truck mascot or perhaps a Marine Corps bulldog mascot. I think you're likely on the right track that it's an amateur art piece, but at least you've given me another keyword to spice up my listing when I throw it on eBay. Thanks!
