Wow - what a blast! I just got back from MB with the family and detecting the beach. Was there from 07/01 to 07/05. I went out every morning and went out on the early evening of the 4th too. While I was detecting the beach on the 4th I had amateur fireworks exploding over my head. Made for some interesting detecting! (It did however make it easier to see inside the scoop with all that extra light!)

Total Found: 9 quarters (1 a 'Perry's Victory' Quarter - haven't seen one of these before), 2 Dimes, 1 Nickel, 11 Pennies.
The Nickel signal was very exciting when I first heard it...
I also found someone's Ohio State ID, and 1 brass shell casing. The markings of the shell are "GFL 223 REM". I'm still doing some research on this, but it looks like it's from an Italian ammo manufacture Fiocchi.

All in all - great trip! Myrtle Beach Treasure.jpg

Sounds like a great trip! Gotta love getting out there and enjoying the ocean. Next time that nickel signal will be gold!

Hard hunting at Myrtle. I found a gold ring there back in December but got skunked on my trip this summer

I got skunked there last year end of July. With the infinium and at pro. Couple pieces of junk jewelry and some change but not what I was hoping for in a week of detecting, I was hitting low tides at 2am and out there for hours each day. The beaches were packed...nowhere to set a towel during the days. Definitely tuff. I saw guys working the dry sand in the evenings but all week I was the only one In the water.

Surf was rough though so that's my excuse

If you get back to Myrtle Beach I lost a 14K pinky ring with 2 forty pt diamonds and a blue sapphire in 1986. Maybe you will get lucky and find it. Lol
