Post a pic of the other side please. It should have a date. It appears to be a piece of jewelry made from a Cuban coin. The date may determine whether it is silver or not.

Ok. The back is blank. I accidentally scratched it with the screwdriver I was using as a probe.

Thanks. I guess its not a coin. It appears to be a replica bracelet of medallion modeled after a 1953 silver Cuban 50 cent liberty coin. Do you have many Cuban refugees in Dallas?

Here is the link that I found on the 25 cent. http://www.31centuries.com/numismatics/worldcoins1.htm

Cuba 1953 25 Centavos, Jose Marti

A nice 1950's silver coin from the Caribbean. Centennial of the Birth of Jose Marti.

Obverse: A cap with a star on it "REPUBLICA DE CUBA PATRIA Y LIBERTAD 6.25 G. 900 M. 25 cts." Reverse: the portrait of Marti "1853 CENTENARIO DE MARTI 1953".

6.2500 grams 0.9000 Silver = .1808 oz. Actual Silver Weight (ASW). Actual size about 24.2mm or 31/32 inch (just under one inch across)

It was about five inches down. It appears to be silver painted or plated copper? It says Republica De Cuba, Partria Y Libertad and 50 cts. It also has the numbers 120g and 900m. What the heck is this thing?
It says 120grams and .900 silver. But I see it looks plated.

Yeah, it is obviously a replica. Hmm. Now I need to find info on who and why they would make a replica of this.

Why does yours only show one side of the coin? Is this some kind of rip-off item made after the tourist embargo was lifted?

dunno. It was buried in the back yard, and it was just a single piece. I think I may see if I can find any other pieces of it.
