Detector(s) used
Whites 6000 di Pro - Fisher CZ5 - Garrett AT pro - Whites M6 - Garrett Sea Hunter MK ll - Garrett pro pointer
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I researched a place to detect today, and found a sign that read positively no metal detectors. This is a summer swimming hole that is drained before winter. So what could be better then a empty swimming hole to detect. This place had lots of sand and was fairly large. just perfect, but it was a no go.

First they go after us, then the waterfowl...Give it another year and they won't even allow swimming there.

What a bummer!

"POSITIVELY NO METAL DETECTORS"-TO RENT.....YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN.......Just add the red part to the sign.....and sign it "Management".....and your Good to Go!

LOL.......Happy Hunting.......Bill

They just dont want you or anyone to start taking TRASH out of their trashy swimming hole & maybe the birds can ingest some lead fishing Weights the Large mouth Bass choked on when it ate someones entire Lure .Then they can the lead is killing off all the animals ,Turtles ,Raptors, and other scavengers . STUPID LAWS!!!!

Yup, stupid. Everywhere you turn someone is getting a cheap thrill out of telling others what they can and can't do. After all what would it hurt? It's sand...

I would start a letter writing campaign. To EVERY one who has ANY authority over this and to ask, pointedly, why.

If it's a privately owned entity, then, they are probably figuring to collect their OWN jewelry at the end of each season. BUT, if it's a public facility, I would demand to know what was behind this STUPID mentality and see about ousting any who are responsible. In the next election.

If we don't stand up, while we can, we might as well take up golf.

bunch of commies.... add your own sign that says 'park management sucks'. :censored:

This was a county park, not private, but I think you have to pay to swim most likely a season pass you have to buy. I not sure how they work it. All I can tell you is this place has been there since the early 1950's

Then, if the county is involved in profiteering by keeping it all and budgeting in to systematically collect on their constituents' woes. It's time to let the public know what's going on.

In the meantime, just get a screen, a bucket, and a shovel. AND....go to town. :)

Happy sifting!

BINGO!!

No

I've been to that spot, seen that sign, probably eight years go. First time there, never went back.

I told my son lets just go In there with the sand scoop and just sift through the sand and see what we get, LoL. But we just went to a another spot.

Ahh Darlington park. The guys that work there detect the place and clean up. The people who frequent this place are the type that have alot of "bling" meaning any extra cash they have goes to grills for their teeth more bling or huge rims for crappy hondas. They bus alot of people in from other parts of jersey here, its like a sping break atmosphere every day here in the summer, people getting trashed and losing yellow and silver. The workers know this. I even tried to have my cop friend who works in the town get me in and it was a no go.

Crappy deal dude. What about a pinpointer lol. Rejection SUCKS! Last summer, I found a bottle cap that said, " check under the cap". I did and won a free Coke...too bad it expired in 1989!!

I knew it I told my son that's probably what was going on here and Marty you just clarified it. The workers are cashing in LOL.
