she bought three rolls that were clear wrapped and of course I picked them up to look at the edges. I saw what I thought was silver and quickly opened the wrapper and found this. Just looked it up value is 20 cents. Still a keeper for my foreign coin collection. My MD club has a BEST FOREIGN COIN catagory in their find of the month contest. Might win a silver half dollar. ;D

Look at the date of that coin, two different years. Never saw that before and I lived over there for over three years.

This that pic supposed to be the front and back of the same coin, or two different coins?

I got this off a website of foreign coins. But, that is the front and back of the same coin. Never seen one before with two different dates.

I found some Philippine coins recently, and did some online snooping about their history. It appears that most Philippine coins since 1995 have two dates on them. One date, on the face with the denomination, is the year of mintage. The date on the other side, 1993, is part of the Philippine Central Bank's logo which takes up that entire face. Older Philippine coins that do not have that bank logo will only have one date, for the year of mintage.

And now you know.
