Found this last Sat. Its called a through trough metate / mortar and hammer stone. the mortar has two depression for holding, the mortar style is not to common in my area, I think it was involved in a trade, that style I think could came from sw or north central. imo Found Northern Tier Pa.

what type of area was it found(creek, field, woods) and was the top stone found with it?
 

What an incredibly cool find. Any ideas of how old it is?
