Fisher F75, Tesoro Tejon, Tesoro Mojave.
I found a few good things this past summer. My favorite hunt was a very large and unknown lumbering ghost town (1870's) that turned up many relics. My most productive spot was a sidewalk tearup in front of an old church (1860). Most amazing find? My first shield nickel from 7" on edge with the Tejon and a 5.75 coil. Well, it's now 18 degrees here and the ground is frozen. Time to reflect on a pretty good summer.

Nice finds

That Mercury dime looks like it could be an overdate 1942/41 Check it out and let us know.

Its cold here in Ohio too and I just don't have the moxie to get out in it to dig. Always next year

regards

Sanat

You know, there is something funny about the date on the merc - i have to find a picture of an overdate to be sure. Could be just that it's worn. I'll try to post a better picture of the date.

Ian

Unfortunately it's not an overdate. I was getting excited there, but it just doesn't look like that picture. The 2 is worn down a little bit and makes it look like a mis strike - but it's just worn. oh well.

Great assortment of relic, coins and other things. That knife looks to be German with MOP handles.... Looks like there were some great days of hunting for you!!!!

Congrats,

It looks kind of like a piece of a spur doesn't it? Nice finds.

Ian,

Great finds for the summer! You can't beat that Tejon for deep coins on edge. Did you use the 5.75 concentric or widescan?

shooter - I was using the concentric and boy does that thing sniff the coins out. I can't explain it but it's kind of freaky, every once in a while it will hook on to a coin that is well deeper than it's diameter - which I still don't think is possible - but it happens. ( I have always heard that a 6" coil will find a coin 6" max) Plus, the on edge thing happens all the time and I am sure these coins are missed by other detectors that probably give broken signals.
