I'm posting this separate from our relic hunt because my son Carson found this Eagle button thing this morning at an old school . It has and Eagle with a shield in the middle with the words Warranted Superior . It has a threaded rod on the back . Is it old and what is it ? The two wheats were my only good finds of the hunt , 1950D and 1951D . We had a great day today !

actually not an eagle button at all. This is a rivet/stud for an early saw or other wood working tool. They date from the 1850s-1880s

Thanks for the info you beat me to it  . I just found this picture of the saw from 1887 with the eagle pin on it .

I've found two of them and think they are very cool finds. So congrats to your son for his keeper.
