I know the small one is a bird point but thats all I know about it. I know there is 2 pottery shards in the picture. I think there is 1 scrapping tool, 3 larger arrow heads or spear points, and the one is a piece I think of a knife or something similar. Any help would be appreciated. If it helps they were found in Northern Alabama. :dontknow:

Hey DirtyMike
Welcome to artifacts. Look like some tips and bases. Field finds maybe the way they are broke?. Woodland pottery. Hard to tell on the bird point..might be a brewerton with some of the base missing. Just a guess.
Got any confederate artifacts??
TnMtns

Hey Mike, bama stuff is a little far for my knowledge. The small triangular point is a true arrowhead or warpoint as we call them around here. One of the very few types shot from a bow and arrow. The broken pieces look like sections of larger knives. Looks like a nice uniface tool of some sort, some of those date back before 10,000 BP. Can't help much on the pottery, Tn.mountains is near bama, and he knows his pottery, he might could help you with those.

Harpers Ferry huh? great place...I've seen some nice artifacts from your neck of the woods. Do any arrowhead hunting up there?

I got a few. I dug 3 confederate buttons my first year digging. I have a block I, a Virginia coat, and a real nice 90% gilted Virginia Staff coat buttons. I have 2 lead finials and about a hundred confederate bullets. Thats about it for the good team...

I am looking into it. I have never found any Indian artifact yet. I know they are around here. I have some relics in our local museum and there is a guy who has a sweet collection from my county. He has all types of points, pottery, axes, etc... Man I do hope to find some stuff this year. I mostly dig civil war relics.

I think most CW relic hunters feel the way you do and are all about the butternut. I understand that confederate artifacts are worth more too.
