After two hunts and total swing time of about 7 hours, i was able to pull a few keepers this week.

Here is a picture of everything except the trash.

My first fully intact cuff link with a stone. I suspect this is a pretty old cuff link considering the age of the home.

Finally, my second intact skeleton key ever! My last intact skeleton key was found back in the 1980's!
Any ideas on what this key may have gone too?

As always, HH everyone!

Hey Ammoman congratulations on the cuff links and key. On the key I’m gonna guess a safe and cuff link old as heck. I got my first cuff link last week and too have two skeleton keys. One of mine went to a safe I believe.

Wait are we living the same life?

Like the others said, it could be for an old padlock, or even a small cabinet key. Its still a very nice find, and since its your second one, I would start putting them in a display case. You will undoubtedly find more in the future, and they do display nicely.

Thanks for the info on the key. So, if what i am reading is correct, I am still looking for my second skeleton key? LOL just my luck!
Anyhow, here is a picture of both my keys together along with a couple locks that might look pretty good in a display.
Any ideas on what the big key would have gone too? I found it just a couple feet from a US civil war buckle back in 1980

Nice key and cuff link !
Good hunt .

The big one looks like a typical door lock key, Ammo. Nice finds all around! 😁

Congrat's on the find of the old key, cufflink, and the other finds as well. You had a nice hunt.

Great bunch of finds. I love finding keys like yours. They are such a nice piece of personal history.

I would say the bigger key is an actual door key. Nice finds.

Now we're metal detecting. Nice job.:icon_thumright:
