My results from today (halves, dimes, etc.)

Was traveling for work today, so I stopped at a few banks along my route.

1st bank, no halves.

2nd bank, $32.50 in halves - yielded 1 '64 and 3-40%s.

3rd bank, $3.50 in halves - skunked.
$2 in pennies yielded 35- pre'82 pennies, so there's that.

Stopped at 3 banks in another town, got $140 in halves at one (skunked) and $3.50 in loose halves at another that yielded 1-40%.

Total haul for today's 6 banks-

1 - '64 90% half
4 - 40% halves (66, 2x67, 68)
1 - 2007 NIFC half (I guess? It is just a 2007 half, should I start saving these?)
and 35 pre-82 dimes.


Not a great day, but good enough.

Dimes are killing me though. I found two silver Rosies last week in about $200 CWRs, and I've been through about $700 worth of CWRs since then and every one has been a skunk. I think I am a magnet for others' dime dumps. Starting to get disenchanted with the little dimes.

I was in a bank earlier this week and asked for "$100 in dimes" or something like that, and the teller proceeded to tear into a box of dimes and gave me 20 rolls of bright, shiny, fed-wrapped 2011 uncirculated dimes. I got home before I looked at what she had given me. (I'm new to searching dimes.) I'm kind of scared to order and receive a full box of those now, because I don't want to waste anybody's time with the chances of getting all-new dimes.

Now I make a point to ask the tellers if they have customer-wrapped dime rolls, but I'm afraid that's just getting me other people's dumps. I can't seem to win for losing with dimes.

don't take for granted that you are picking up dumped dimes. I don't believe that many people even search dimes, in the grand scheme of chr'ing.
the key to finding lots of silver dimes, is to search lots of dimes. For instance, I don't bother picking any up, unless I'm able to score $1000+ or more at a time. Otherwise, to me, it's too much trouble.

When I do dimes I noramlly get 2 boxes at a time. Then I am lucky if I score 1 silver.....Matt
