Went through my change when I got to work and this popped up! I almost didn’t notice it!

A 1947 Washington quarter.

I was honestly shocked when I found it. I had been looking at my pennies when I noticed something odd about the rim of one of the quarters I had gone through and stacked up.

I went coin roll hunting last week and didn’t find much other than some wheat pennies, went metal detecting at Manhattan beach yesterday and just found clad and trash, and then today I get lucky and find silver in my pocket.

I swear. It’s like the silver is taunting me.

Sweet find!! :hello2:

Every now and then you luck out. I always check all of my change. My wife and daughter seem to get more silver and Wheats back in change than I do, but they also spend more money in order to receive change back. Its all a law of averages thing.

The last time i found silver in my change was 10 years ago at the Mcdonalds drive thru. I say this is the beginning of a silver hot streak. Congrats:occasion14:

It's not taunting you. It was tired of waiting to be found, so it went hunting for you!

I carried a 1945 quarter in my pocket for a long time but it disappeared the other day. Must have spent it by mistake! That puts me in the negative column for silver this year. Oh well.

Rare as hens teeth these days I'd say finding silver still hanging on in circulation. I think it was maybe 1994 I recall receiving for the last time a 1964 quarter in change back.

About 4 years ago I got back a silver quarter twice in two weeks from two different gas stations. However, when I roll hunted between 2009-2014 I found close to 1,500 silvers…mostly halves and dimes. Included were 1 Barber half, six Barbers dimes, walking liberties and dozens of Franklin halves. 150+ silver Canadians.

Cool pocket find! Congratulations!
