Nice photos. I've never been to an actual launch. My sis-in-law lives in Merritt Island, she doesn't even have to leave her house, Of course she doesn't have the "close-up" that you have here. :) Very nice indeed!


PS- I was living in Orlando in '86 when the Challenger blew-up in mid air after take-off. I remember it well. It wasn't a pretty site.
 

For those that may not know: Go to http://www.heavens-above.com/ and register. Put in your zip, city, or location. You can see a ten day forecast when the shuttle, ISS, or any number of other objects orbiting the earth are passing over your location. It will give the time entering and leaving your viewing area, the magnitude, and degrees above the horizon. Also a sky chart is posted and a flight path for the particular date it is viewable.
 

Cool shots! I still have my pics when I saw the Challenger go up that July day while at Survivor School, film was still in the camera when the Challenger blew up the following Jan. Such a tragedy. :'(
