I did not find these coins metal detecting. I found these coins in my penny bank. I do not use coins at all to buy something. If I do, I'm gonna check the coin to make sure its not worth a lot of money. As I was going through my penny bank I found a 1955 penny. I looked at it under my magnify glass and study it to make sure it was not a double die. To my eyes it does not look like a double die. The estimated value of the DD is worth $300 - $25,000+. Even circulated versions of the 1955 Double Die are worth $300-$1000+ depending on condition. About 24,000 1955 double die cents were put into circulation. Normal circulated 1955 pennies are worth about $.15 - $.90 cents.
Now, this other coin that I found is made of 1/10th of an oz. of fine gold. I have no idea how this got into my penny bank. This is a 5 dollar coin, it was minted in 1997. This coin sells up to $300 I believe on ebay. Check out the pictures and tell me what you think. (Always check your coins)
