My oldest coin

Dug a 1723 hibernia if I'm correct. This is my oldest coin by over 160 years. I have dug one old copper but it was toast and had no visible identification. My oldest prior identifiable was a half dime...which was my first silver. Odd part is I still haven't dug more recent old coins as indian heads, buffalo nickels in 2 years. However, I will take it.

Looks good enough it should clean up a bit better.

Congrats on a super recovery. I agree with the others that there is more detail hidden there. Hydrogen peroxide is what I would use.

The funny thing is, my first colonial coin was a 1723 wood's Hibernia half-penny ( My avatar). Congrats on your oldest coin, good luck on getting into the 1600's!
