I've been on a heck of a dry spell and was about to give up looking anymore. My uncle convinced me to go with him to a home rebuilt in the 1960's after the previous one had burnt down. The place didn't give any kind of "good vibe", if you know what I mean, and I was only there to hang out with my uncle to be honest. Wasn't finding much of anything and I was along the edge of the house. There were alot of those small aluminum roof snippings that roofers throw out into the yard. I had been ignoring all my signals that made me think were these snippets. I finally said to myself that I would dig one just to be sure. Lo and behold an 1819 Large cent popped out of the ground as opposed to a piece of aluminum. Right along with it was an arrowhead. I showed them both to the owner of the property knowing for sure that they would want to keep the oldest coin I had yet to dig. The owner got excited as all get out. Funny thing was, she was pumped about the arrowhead and not the coin at all. I said, "I'll give you the arrowhead if you don't mind me keeping the coin." She was all for it.

Bufalo, great find! And congrats on your oldest coin...you reminded me of an old farm house on my road...the one where I found my first silver Washington and my first Barber quarter...in the same hole! But...near the house...solid 80-81 signals, I must've dug a dozen aluminum slivers so I ventured elsewhere...now I think I'll go back and clean it up...thx very much...ddf
