My oldest Coin yet and it's from Hungary ????

Well I was excited as heck when I unearthed this beauty today. I was pulling coins left and right from my towns old Little League Fields long since moved. It's now just a vast Coin graveyard. Clad after clad after clad but at least I was getting high tones and that's always good . . . or bad. Aluminum. Phht. Lol. Anyways my heart skipped a beat when I popped out the plug and a large 2 was staring at me. Thought I had my first U.S. 2 Cent piece ! BUT I noticed that what writing I could read wasn't anything I had seen before. I got excited all over again though when I made out the date. 1893 !!!! I FINALLY broke into the 1800 Club ! I just hope that they accept foreign currency. Ha ha. Anyways it turned out to be a 1893 magyar kiralyi valtopenz coin from Hungary. Not sure what it was doing 6 inches down in small town Ohio but the history behind the find is as exciting as the find itself to me. It's why we do what we do. I honestly couldn't be happier right now. I absolutely LOVE this sport / hobby ! Good luck to all of you and Happy Hunting !!!

Awesome find!!

you said "sport"....... I agree with you

Congratulations to downing the 1800 barrier

Awesome find, I've found Spanish and Israeli coins here in NH, you never know what, where or when. Just one of many things that make you say "Yup, that's why I do this!"

I've found a bunch of US 2-cent coins...I'd rather have that Hungarian coin any day of the week. Nice find!

Nice dig, :occasion14: it does make you wonder who lost it &when it was lost. Maybe a good luck piece for an immigrant. :dontknow: What part of Ohio?

TMOSC EVEN THOUGH IT IS HUNGARIAN IT IS STILL A NEAT COIN.

Northeast Ohio about 20 miles southwest of Cleveland.
