My oldest coin to date!

I only had a few minutes to detect today. I had to pick the boys up. I have been trying to find civil war stuff and really haven't been doing very good. Seem to be finding places that have been hunted to death. Since I only had a few minutes, I decided to try an old house on a friend's farm. Nobody has lived there in years. My friend said it was built in the late 1880s. Seemed like a lot of junk signals in the front yard. Finally got a pretty good signal and decided to dig. At about 8", out popped what appeared a penny but I really couldn't tell. I dropped it in my pouch and continued to hunt for about 30 minutes. Got in the car to go get the boys and decided to try a baby wipe on the coin. Lo and behold, what peaks back at me but a 1906 Indian Head. Needless to say, I was a little excited. I know it is not the oldest coin for most but I will take it. Now it's back to civil war hunting. I know that virgin camp site is still out there waiting on me. :)

Congrats on the oldest coin yet.

Congrats on your first!

I'd rather have that than most CW stuff. Except maybe one of those nifty belt buckles or something. lol

Nice IH, I;d go back and clean out all the junk and then go over the area slow, and I bet you;ll find alot more older coins and probably some silver to go along with your IH.

Nice IH, I love them, always a great find! Glad to see your ACE 250 is doing a good job for you.

Awsome!...for some of us, IHs are kinda a rare find!...I have dug over 130 silver coins in the last 9 months, and only 3 IH pennies.
The ACE250 will serve you well.
