whites beach hunter 300
little over 4 hours hunting the dry sand tonight.....my arm is tired.
i found this 1893 o barber half dollar ..pretty wore down but you can see the date and make out most of the writing...
this was my 3rd silver coin from the same beach but this is my oldest coin find yet.

tonight i did a lot of digging..besides a broken light bulb,2 screws, lotsa pulltabs, small garden rake and foil from drink tops....97 coins =.$7.92 in clad(including the 1/2 dollar) .....a junker earring and another strange coin i never saw before (pictured with half dollar) it says " united states of america" on one side and the other side says "one centavo filipinas" and it has a date of 1944.

there is a spot on the beach where they recently moved a lot of sand with a tractor and these older coins were found there....doubt they were there this long but i think they uncovered some old stuff......this beach has 5 hunters everytime i go no matter what day/time i go there...i`m shocked i find anything. But when you see these guys all decked out with all the hunting goodies and they swing their detectors 3 feet in the air on each side of them while walking 5 m.ph. i think thats the reason i find stuff. Those "professional" hunters don`t go home with too much swinging the machine like that. they look goofy to me! :tongue3:

happy hunting.....pictures are lousy from my $2 camera i got at S.A. ... mike

Nice looking half you got there :icon_thumleft:

You must be doing something right, so don't worry about those other guys. Patience + Persistence = Payoff

thanks- yeah i steer clear of them ...they will come real close to me and my machine goes nuts! :icon_sunny:

Nice find on the half, and the Filipino coin.....

When you see them swinging their coil in a 160 degree arc, you know they are finding very little so no competition.......

great spot where they moved the sand, hope you scanned the heck out of it

That is a terrific haul. Well done. Can't wait until I find enough to actually make a worthwhile post myself.
