my old B.H.TR550-D beeeeps

hi hope you can help, my old B.H.TR550-D, after a 2 foot drop
makes a steady beeeeep now, the only thing that changes the noise, is
as the volume goes up the beep gets louder and louder
any ideas on what happened, im thinking about taking case off,
and see if something is loose or broken
