I drove job furnished pickups for 23 yrs for 2 different companies, took truck home every night. This is first one I bought, it was impossible to pass up.Sounds like a plan. I just bought my retirement truck a couple weeks ago. It hurt laying down the cash as I've been driving a company truck for 20 years. I had saved for one but still, ouch. It is 2 years old with less than 22k miles. I ordered a fiberglass capper and upgraded running boards. They're proud of cappers too. $$$!
Cappers make traveling much more civilized being able to store items and locking them up.
Best truck I have ever owned 2004 4.7 V8, limited slip 4x4 195,000 miles never misses a beat!
I forgot to mention my father in law bought this truck brand new. We later inherited it. It was his baby and maintained regularly. He wanted a sun roof but that model did not offer it. Mr Wheeler from Wheeler Toyota worked with Toyota so that option was available for those trucks!Best truck I have ever owned 2004 4.7 V8, limited slip 4x4 195,000 miles never misses a beat!

I have owned 4 sports cars, MG Midget, Austin Healy Sprite, 2 Miatas, 4 vans, 3 were full size Chevy customized, 55 and 57 chevy Belair, 70 Roadrunner, 3 Volkswagens, several miscellaneous cars, this is first pickup I have personally owned, although I drove company pickups for 20 years.
I will add a custom stereo to the pickup.
Once I'm comfortabke truck is dependable I will sell my 2006 custom Miata.
That is the plan.If there's no heavy rust on the frame that truck will probably outlast you, it's a Toyota and it will easily double if not triple the mileage it has now!!!
If I were you I'd buff the hood bad paint area and get a can of good UV clear coat and spray that area before putting a bra on it to make sure it doesn't start rusting!
