My web provider Comcast intalled a new modem 3 days ago and ever since I hooked it up i can not access or surf The T.N. posts. I can bring up the home page only. In the upper left side of the home page I get that spinning blue circle that never ends? What's up?

Thanks,

call Comcast & complain !

I just installed my New Modem myself about 6 hours ago.

DSCF0001.jpg

right after I installed it , I called Comcast to have it activated.
took about 5 full minutes after they sent the activation signal for it to work.

The first attempt at getting on the Net (TreasureNet is my home page) took what felt like forever. It's like watching for water to boil :unhappysmiley:

Opening my email also took a good bit of time 30 seconds or more.

my first Email, took a long time to receive.
I sent one to Myself.

they
told me it could take up to 24 hours for the new modem to build up.
& my nephew who is a computer genius imo
said a little while for all the updates to configure and then a few days to rebuild my online cache.

right now 6 hours after I'm doing good.

I've been activated for over 48 hours. What is taking soooo long? I'll be off work in about 1 hour, so I'll check my home computer then. Hoppfully I'll be up and running. I hate to have to call Comcast again, they probably have the worst service on the planet...

Yes I hate calling comcast to.

First you get an Automated system confirming it is Me.

Then you have to choose reason for Calling.

then you get put on hold

Then they ask if they can call you back with an automated questionnaire after your call
(I always say Yes in case they rush you then. if they don't need to worry about you complaing after, they don't need to be nice either))

Then they pick up and ask again to confirm it's me :(

90% of the time the Person sounds just off the Boat & Very hard to Understand.

Today's sounded like a young Indian woman (from India)
but this was the first one I had no complaints about.
other then I had to listen closely & repeat in my head a few things she said before I understood her :unhappysmiley:

these days comcast tries to sell me extra services like Phone & home security too :(
I always tell them to stuff that

A refresh signal may do you good though, But don't take the automated one.
Make sure you have a Human being online as the refresh signal is delivered

I've had the new modem for 3 or 4 days now and I still can't navigate T.N. on my home computer. All my T.N activity can only be done at my office with my work computer. Called Comcast yesterday and they said my problem is not related to the new modem? ...Hum...never had any problems until the new modem was installed. ..:(

do you have IE , FireFox or google Chrome ?

I know IE gives members problems

also I used the #2 Ethernet Port on the Modem.

not sure why, but my Nephew told me
not to use top or bottom ports which I take would mean 1 or 4

as far as speed nothing noticeable here yet .
I use FireFox and am happy though

they sent me the Modem via UPS in a 5 Pound Box,
and a prepaid return Label for the old Modem & wires
the Prepaid label though is only for 2 Pounds

so they may be getting a call saying they didn't send me enough postage to return the old stuff. & I'm not paying for it :dontknow:

we'll see tomorrow when I try to drop off the box at the UPS Pickup

Delete your cookies and reboot..... How are you trying to access TN, are you using a shortcut? If so try accessing TN by doing a google search for Treasurenet Forums".

If I get you take correctly, then I should use the 2 & 3 ports?

Thanks, Mike

Make sure you update your systems also.
