I dug this a few years ago, Still, no Idea...Northeastern MA -. Cross cutting between old stone walls. Area - Heavy woods now, but I believe it used to be old fields, possibly a path. Entire area was first settled around 1639. I hit for copper and start digging. Get down about 9 inches and pull up this. I know it is in rough shape, but there are some markings which appear to be visible. I had my buddy swing over it and he got for copper also. It is pretty heavy and about the size of a 50 cent piece. Any insight or help would be appreciated. After a few years of research on and off, I think it now to be lead...possibly a bale seal, but it is rather large compared to the ones I have seen...looking for any insight or possibly different directions to go down

Is there any way you can take a closer pic or one a bit bigger? Can't really see the details.

This is either a lead seal, a squashed musketball, or a gaming piece. Either way, it appears to be lead rather than copper.
