My M6 arrived today!

One piece of advice for you. Don't stop posting what you find. This forum is for Metal Detectorists. As long as it is metal and you find it while detecting with your detector post it.

We cannot all find Colonial coppers, silvers or other great things.

Congrats and go did up some stuff!

Good luck with your M6.You will find coins your first time out. This is a simple machine to use but even a simple machine takes time to understand all it is telling you.I've had my M6 for almost a year of hard use and I'm still picking up the nuances.

Congrats on the new machine Storm. Looking forward to seeing your finds, Good Luck.

Well it was beautiful weather at the coast.....................ok being sarcastic, wet and cold.
Got down to the coast at 10:30 pm Friday night, it was raining. Rained off and on Saturday and Sunday.
Did my part to clean up the enviornment.
Around the condo I dug a cola can at 10 inches, a ball of foil at 8, a screwtop at 6 inches and pull tab at 2-3. Went to a walkway across the street and dug some more pulltabs, a big metal clip and screw tops. The VDI was all over the place during this so I was aware I was in a trashy area. More rain.
Sunday morning went to the beach, got an entire about 15 minutes prior to the rain. Total of 7 pull tabs, 4 srewtops and a gold ball of foil. (people are nasty and really should remove their garbage). More rain. DId the 50 yard dash back to the car. Very paranoid about the rain. Packed up and headed home.
All in all, not discouraged but wish I would've found a coin.

I would first go to a more modern elementary school. You will find more coins and less trash. A good way to get acquainted with your machine. BTW - good detector to start out with.

Also, don't be worried about a little rain. I have had a couple Whites machines for years (DFX & Classic) and hunt in the rain all the time. Only time I call it quits is when I'm soaked and miserable. ;D Of coarse I know better than to hunt in a downpour...

Thanks for the suggestion Bob, have an Elementary school close. Will stop by this weekend.

Good luck with your new machine. That one is on my list when I can finally afford a higher end machine, which judging by the budget may be never.

And like mastereagle22 said, post it all. We all love photos and stories, even the junk.
