My Local Newspaper

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Yeah, Digginman, the Star is good source... u know I was born, raised, educated, worked in the Shenandoah Valley... all up & down I-81, there r Civil War battlefields... old homes... grave sites... etc AND... many family caches in the mountains on both sides of I-81. There is even a old treasure legend involving "The Peak" (Massanutten Mountain, in Keezletown, at the old caverns at the resort, there)... research... talk to "old timers"... I miss the Valley, too d... cold for me, tho... ;)

Newspapers offer some of the best info when it comes to treasure hunting.

Even the big treasure hunters rely heavily on newspaper accounts (like for the SS Central America shipwreck).

Also, thanks for the link.

The local newspaper is a BIG plus, it's amazing how many obscure places you can find to hunt. Whether it's info on old buildings, or gatherings, or even expansions for new roads or businesses. Keep a sharp eye out.

My local paper has the same thing, but with no pictures. Great resource.
