Hello Everyone,
In my recent post I asked questions regarding pinpointing with the Garrett Ace 250. So I tried a couple of expierments to find out exactly where the coin should be after pinpointing.
The first thing I did was super glue a quarter to a piece of cardboard, I took it out in the yard fliped the cardboard over where I couldnt see the quarter. I made several passes over the cardboard to get the general Idea of where the quarter was, and then I pinpointed exactly where I thought the quarter was. I held the metal detector against the cardboard and traced the outline of the coil. I took it inside and cut out the cardboard exactly as I traced it while the quarter was still glued to it. Below is a picture with the quarter cut out where I pinpointed it.
Then I took a picture of my coil and used photobucket to find the exact center. The results come out almost exactly the same! Hopefully this will other people and myself find more coins. Thanks John
