Very Nice, Jog. Well refined as I like the improvements from the last.
I have resorted to putting together cheap junk just in case it gets confiscated, stolen, or vandalized by both animal and humans. Maybe some pictures to come at seasons end, for a good laugh of course.
Times are bad for building winches for dredging down here. Nice to see it ain't bad everywhere.
The new owner just picked it up last night and was headed to a GPAA outing this weekend so it will get broke in right. Thanks for all the great comments....
I "know" you and everyone else. When I built the first one I wasn't working and had a lot of free time but now that I am back to work It's hard to find the time.
Anxious to hear the report from the new owner as to how he did at the
outing with the trommel. If he does 1/2 as good as the unit looks Jog,
he will be an extremely happy prospector. Nice job for sure.
Gold Nuggets
Well, I pretty much know what it takes to build one parts wise but the hour part is hard to keep track of. If I start selling them then I will have to take the time to build a few jigs to speed things up. I'm not sure if I should post a price until I'm 100% sure that I can make money and I could sell enough of them to make it worth while. This latest machine I pretty much made everything on it by hand myself except for the drum, that I had rolled in town. I did learn a few tricks on the building of the feed hopper that saved me about a $100.00 by doing it myself and saved a ton of hours compared to the last one I built. When I get some solid numbers I will post them.
The tires on this one were asked for by the owner so that might be something in the future that is a special request from the person purchasing one. Just a thought.
