I like to hunt more than I like to post, so I hunt a lot and post a little. As such Im just posting what I’ve found very recently. My favorite is the CW militia button and 1847 seated found right outside Charleston with my buddies CarolinaTom and Kurt .

The button is a Alberts NY20A with a lot of surviving gilt, and made during the civil war.

The holed seated, with some investigative work, turned out to be an 1847. Having a New Orleans mint mark meant it could not be a 1837, or an 1857.

The 2-cent is in great condition, and every time I find one, they seem to all be in decent shape. Must have been good planchet material.

Good hunting and stay positive (Positive detecting attitude)

Steve

PS apologies for the added pics. F’d up the download and unable to erase using a phone. I wish they’d bring by the app

PS apologies for the added pics. F’d up the download and unable to erase using a phone. I wish they’d bring by the app

That's a real beauty of a button, congrats.
Well done on the silver, and I see that you got a Vickie also.
I have to agree about the 2 cents seem to be always pretty nice shape.
