my grandparents land, they died about 14 years ago and someone else lives there now but I think it would be great to be able to go there and look around the house and the yard and the barn and other animal pens and the shed and where the house I grew up in was and where my play house was, and maybe even out in the pasture, it would be so cool to find something I played with as a kid.

The problem is'nt asking, it is getting there, it is out in the country about 10 miles from where I live in town and I don't drive, my parents live close by but they think what we do is stupid so they would never take me there. :(

I feel sorry for you. When I started out detecting more then 30 years ago my dad insisted on going with me. I swung the detector and he would dig. I don't know what to say. Maybe you could get a friend to drive you out.

What State do you live in?

Could you not hook-up with another member in your area and go?

Sorry, Sounds like a great place to hunt and get some memories back.

If you know the new owners ,call them up and ask. Tell them you are the granddaughter. I think you and your girls would have a blast hunting there. Wish I lived closer ,I would take you. But there are some great people in this forum who live in Minnesota. Good Luck and Hope you can make it there.

When I was about 11 years old, back when they had dinosaurs I was always hiding stuff. We lived in this house and upstairs in my room there was a loose floor board. My mother yelled at me to clean up the mess, baseball and football cards everywhere. Nolan Ryan Rookie, Willie Mays , great cards. I remember pushed hundreds and hundreds of cards with my feet into the hole made under the floorboard. I remember looking up at this round glass window at the top of the room thinking in forty years someone will find these cards. Well its been literally forty years. I often wondered if someone just nailed the floor board shut and put carpet on it. I even know the address! lol.

The opinion of your parents may not always be filled with wisdom, was Daedalus a fool to think he could fly?
One could say, why did he let Icarus fly to his death. A long walk may end with treasure......seek and you shall find!!!! Good luck!!!

I don't drive because 1. I can't afford the car payments, insurance payments or gas and 2. I can't handle it mentaly, I have a hard time concentrating on things for more than a few minutes and when you drive you have to concentrate on a lot of different things, sometimes for a long time, at 65 miles per hour, because of this I never liked driving, the thing that really made me quit was one day while driving in the cities I was comming to a stop light, I saw that it was red and I started to slow down, I looked over and saw a gas station and thought to myself "I need to get gas" as soon as I thought that I completely forgot (for a few seconds) that I was driving a car and I ended up rear ending the car in front of me. Also "WE" us us metal dector people, they never got to point in what we do.
