My haunted workplace

I work in a very old, very large building in Pocatello Idaho that was a slaughterhouse back in the 20's. It was abandoned for many years & kids, homeless people, fellons would break in all the time. I guess some of the kids were doin crazy devil worshiping, had a big red pentagram painted on the floor in one of the back rooms. When my boss leased the building bout 8 years ago a buddy of mine painted over the pentagram. This building has large empty rooms all over the place, real creepy......kinda like the "Saw" movies, Ive always had a feeling that somebody/something is always watching me. Ive seen black shadows moving out of the corner of my eye too many times to count, heard my name whispered many times & it sounds like someone is right behind me whispering in my ear. The other day I was in the Lab room way in the back of the building, me & the CEO are the only ones here. I heard distinct footsteps in the next room, i listened intently fer bout 10 seconds. Thinking it was my boss trying to freak me out I went looking for him & he was gone, went home for lunch an hour earlier. I was the only person in this damn building........that jolted me. These things realy seem to intensify when Im alone in the building. Music coming from empty rooms that fades out as I aproach the room, doors slamming, footsteps, banging, voices. Others who have been in this place alone have similar stories. Id love to get Paranormal State or Ghost Hunters out here to investigate!

Grant & Jason from TAPS would be best; then, you would PROBABLY have to get 'em (ghosts, etc...) out. Paranormal Cops from Detroit use TASERS... HA! NO self-repecting ghost, or whatever, would hang around... for another "hit".

Interesting, you should to find out more about the buildings full history and see what it became after the slaughter house if anything. That, or talk to some of the old locals that may have been around there at that time and see what they could offer. That's your best starting point.

Hi, Mighty...I used to live in Pocatello. You wouldn't be talking about the old police station? That place was creepy. The transients were in there back in the 90's, but I think someone bought the building and fixed it up. BTW I had some really good times detection in Poky, and some really good detecting buddies. Hey Niffler, small world, eh? Im in the old Kraft building at the end of Kraft Rd, just before you cross the Portnuef river, over by the Malt plant. Spartacus, Im gonna do just that, try to find some history on this building.

I work in a small office that used to be a funeral home. My desk near the receptionists. People come in the door to a very small foyer. I can see people come and go from that foyer while I am sitting at my desk. One day I had some juicy gossip to share with the receptionist and I could hardly wait to share it. Finally, I said to her: "Is that client still waiting in the foyer?" and she said "what client?" I described the woman that came in, crossed the foyer and, I assumed, sat down to wait for her appt. After watching for her to leave, I figured that I somehow missed it and the receptionist said that no such person was there at all... I KNOW for certain that this old lady was indeed there. Not a mist or apparition or anything like that, but as a regular person!

Mind you, everyone thinks I am crazy...and they may be right!

At work today the CEO left about 10am to go play golf leaving Russ, Eric & myself. Russ had big plans to go camping & was packed up so about 2pm I told him to go. Me & Eric were left. Shortly after Russ left I went back into the shop to work on a couple diggin tools, now my weld shop has these two plexiglass windows that look into the "pentagram room". When the lights are off in that room my eyes are always drawn to those windows, I see movement that I convince myself is my own reflection but there is a doubt in my mind. Now I may have mentioned this in an earlier post but in the "pentagram room" almost 5 years ago, my buddy was knocking a cinder block wall down. He had a grinder & was cutting some rebar when the disk exploded & a chunk hit his throat slicing him almost from ear to ear. He still has the scar, doc told him he came a fraction of an inch from dying. Creepy. About two weeks later another guy was prying on a 2x4 riser to a doorway in the same wall when the board popped loose & flew 15-20 feet & the end hit the same guy in the temple breaking his orbit bone around his eye. The other guy said it was un-natural the way it flew at him. Doc told him a fraction of an inch & he was dead. Real creepy. About two weeks later I was on a ladder in the same room & the ladder was kicked out from under me & I fell 10 feet, was almost impaled on a piece of pipe & severely broke my ankle. Damn creepy. I really dont like this room, bad, bad vibes in this room. So Im weldin & grindin & my eyes keep going to those windows, Im really feeling like Im being watched. My stereo is cranked up, compressor is running but Im still hearing strange noises & Im trying to ignore them...........explain them in my mind. This went on for an hour or so & seemed to be escalating, I was seeing occasional movement in the windows that I rationalized away then I saw something that I KNOW was not my reflection, I was not moving but something was. I imediately dropped everything & went up front to see if Eric was screwing with me & his office was locked & his truck was gone. I was the only person in the building. I had to go back to the shop & shut everything down, turn off lights & the long walk back to my office in the dark was a little un-nerving to say the least. I got outa there in a hurry, I really dont like being in that building alone.

I'm with Bootybay on this one. Send them an e-mail with the story you have just told. It sounds like something malevolent is at work. I would just be extra careful working in a place like that after hearing those stories.

Well the "accidents" happened 4-5 years ago & Im very careful in the shop nowdays. I think things were happening because we were doing a lot of remodeling, tearing things down. I refuse to get on a ladder in the "pentagram room". I'm goin to work today to finish a couple diggers that i've promised to get done over the weekend, Im takin the dog & my girlfriend (if I can talk her into going). She had a strange experience in the building about a year ago, heard a male & female talking while she was on the potty. She listened for a few minutes but couldnt make out the words then there was a repeated tapping on the bathroom wall. She thought it was me playing games with her head but I was on the other side of the building & we were the only ones there. Kinda shook her up a bit. i hear so many things in the building, footsteps, doors slamming, voices & music..........I try to explain them away, rationalize them in my head. Its getting harder & harder to do. When things start poppin' I'll yell at them to leave me the hell alone, stay on your side of the shop & I'll stay on mine..........sometimes that works & things die down. I'd love to get somebody in there like TAPS to poke around but doubt my boss would go for that, we have some top-secret experimental stuff goin on in there.

Spart, I believe in addition to "normal" spirits there is something malevalant or demonic in there. What concerns me is the big red pentagram on the floor was simply painted over, it is still there, just hidden. I dont know much about the occult but I think its like the door is still open. Ive seen black shadows moving fast out of the corner of my eye to many times to count. There are a couple empty rooms in the back of the building that I really dont like walking through, I get an overwhelming feeling of being watched, very oppressive feelings. I might try to take some pics of some of the rooms, most of them are empty..........see what I get.

If yer doing CLASSIFIED work, you MAY have CIA/INTELLIGENCE
"spooks"/spies watching over you (think OPERATION STAR GATE - US ARMY INTELLIGENCE/CIA).
On the other hand; just "google"... "Idaho Ghost-Busters" or something. DUNNO. BTW,
it sounds almost like Ft. Meade in Maryland was in the 70's when Operation Star Gate was "active"; AND! Montauk Point on Long Island in New York; SECRET work by the FEDS resulted in VERY "active"
stuff. The Red upside down "star" is a "gate"/doorway, STILL open if just painted over; gotta scrape it off the floor, and THEN paint over it. ANYWAY, do the BEST you can, and shut the "gate"/doorway.
