My friend found one of the "Best" rings you'll ever see

when we hit fresh water spot the other day
Im like chest deep - he was in ankle deep water
we were finishing up hitting spot where we were looking for lost ring
I had just dug a silver ring and he said he found his "Best" ring ever
Im thinking he has something covered in diamonds - not!

this was found by him years ago in a land hunt and is best ring found by him
we were hunting a colonial farm field together when he found this - it is one of the oldest
known American made gold rings - 1682 and made by an American smith
it sold for around $30,000 at auction

Having a history from finding the gold ring I imagine that you thinking huge rocks for sure to out do the old one he found. That's one crazy price paid for the gold ring, good for the seller.

it belonged to the Royal Governor of Massachusetts mother - it was given to her for the death of his son in Feb.1682
it was made by John Coney who taught Paul Reveres father - his stuff is very collectible

Wow that gold ring is amazing! What a great piece of history.

he found it about 20 yards away from me - I still wonder if I found it -would I have sold it
I think I would've liked to see it in a local museum (he tried to get a local one to bid on it - but price was to high)
or in the smithonian for awhile on loan
its supposedly in a private collection right now

Beautiful piece of Yellow.. Hard to sell but I would have also..

Beautiful ring and great history. Glad I got to see it since it's in a private collection.

Thanks for showing off your buddy's find.... stunning.

I thought I already found the best junk ring ever.

What does the inscription inside say?

$30,000? I would not have thought twice!

The one ring might be the " BEST " ring , but the gold ring is the GREATEST ring ever !
