My First Wheat!

I went to my favorite park today. I was hitting the typical clad and a mashed up airplane. Then a nice older lady was walking her dog and stopped to ask if I would help find her earring. I told her yes I would be glad to help and turned down her $50 offer. The chance to hunt her yard was payment enough. It was a 1928 house in a really nice neighborhood.

She lost the earring about a month ago between her front door and the street. Add to that, the yard work, leaf blowers and the chance someone picked it up.... :( I never did find it.

The sidewalk was brick and I got a lot of hits and coins in the cracks. The 1948 wheat was near the steps at the street.
Add to that a '62 memorial, and '40 and '62 Jefferson nickels and I had a good day. ;D

Very nice gesture on your part to look for the earring. :icon_king:

WTG on your first wheatie

Try hunting the yard again if you can - there's probably some good targets you may have missed the first time.

Your story reminds me of earlier in the year when an older lady had me look for a ring she lost. She showed me exactly where she lost it in the yard. I checked very thoroughly and couldn't find it. I knew if a ring was there (especially a freshly dropped one) I would find it. I made it a challenge to myself and came back the next day, but still no ring.

Later in the week, her son told me she found it in her house on the floor :tongue3:

Either way, you got a yard out of it and you'll always remember where your first wheat penny was found.
