I was so happy yesterday when I went out metal detecting for the first time. Now, I've been plenty of times....when my boyfriend goes, I take a blanket and read under a tree, or walk around with him and watch what he digs up. So, it didn't take me too long to catch on. (My poor, pathetic arms are tired today!)
We only went 2 places- a school we'd never been to before, and a park we'd gone to once a week- going on 3 weeks now. It seems as though every person there had a hole in their pocket. Anyways, the school didn't produce too much, a couple of bottle caps, pull tabs gallor and a couple of cents.
So it was at the little park in a residential neighborhood right by our place. I pulled out my first half! Shortly to follow was .28 in pennies (nothing out of the ordinary) 2 dimes, 3 nickles, and 8 quarters! I walked away with a total of $3.13- not to shabby for my first day!
I WOULD have had pictures.....and I even mentioned that I was excited to post them on TreasureNet, cause I thought I did well and a funny thing happened....(he's gonna love me for posting this) My boyfriend washed them, we tallied it all up, and when I thought they were drying on the counter- getting ready for their photo shoot.....he dumped them in his jar that he's keeping all his MD finds in!!!
So now.....I have no pics, I mean I suppose I could pull out the half, and what I would think the top of the pile. But it just isn't the same ya' know.
After all that's said and done, I can't be mad....he was sweet and dug all my finds when we were out so he'll get the pass.
But I'm still stoked about my $3.04!
Happy Hunting !!
