I wanted to try the Sov.GT in the dirt today and start learning it , one thing i noticed is those Black Widow HP,s are awesome , i saw this huge barn i pass each day with all the property being dug up i had to stop and see if the owner would give me permission the hunt he said yes have a ball :hello2: real nice guy he just moved there and wants to make the barn his office and home there is a lot !! of property the original barn is still there from the early 1800,s it,s just been added on to over the years . My first hit was a good one in 1 hole i found 3 thimbles all stacked together the 7 was in the 9 and the 5 was in the 6 :laughing7: one is sterling silver older then the other 2 iam happy about that my first silver thimble and a few silver coins a 1927S merc and a 1952 rosie , another axe head that is 5 this year and a copper thingy with a iron piece in it ,some detail is viable ? i can go back as much as i want to hunt that site  A few pics enjoy HH Dd60

Thimbles are so collectable! Nice finds.
:headbang:
BTW, the barn looks so nice. Here, in Oz, it would have qualified for a luxury home.

Great Finds!
think theres more where that came from!
Congrats on your finds, AND a new site!

Congrats on your first silver thimble Jim. Looks like you got a good place to spend some time with the sov. :icon_thumright:

That is the key a place to spend time learning it with the hip bag its light as a feather all the difference in the world i find the S-12 coil is lighter then the stock 10 " one thing i tried to use my whites pinpointer with the BW headphones and i cant hear it lol those HP,s block out 95% of all back ground noise ,2 red roasters walked up behind me croaking away i could not hear them until i took off the head phones :laughing7: Dd60

Those thimbles are amazing Jim.
When I spoke to you on the phone yesterday you had mentioned them, but I didn't realize they were this nice. :D

Post the brass object on the wood in the "what is it" section. I'd like to see what it is.
Take care friend,
Mike

Hey Mike ill post that in what is it , it was great to find a silver thimble thanks, that Sov GT is all set up now i did a few changes for it to fit me i reversed the hand grip feels more comfortable half way between my wrist and elbow, moved the search probe up 6 inches on the shaft now that wire is a prefect length no strain on the wires, and i really like those Black Widow phones tomorrow i work the late shift so ill take it out in the fields and give it a good run  glad you talked me into getting the GT instead of the E-Trac the E -Trac is a great machine but this GT with the hip bag is much much lighter :headbang: HH Jim

That's great Jim.
It does pay to get the good headphones, doesn't it?
Hey, Steelheadwill just called me from the field . He asked me for an I.D. of something he just dug.
Amazing find he just found. He's going to post tonight.
