My first solid silver roll!! ...of 40%'s ...sort of...
I had planned to spend today dumping all the coin I had accumulated lately but had been too busy to take care of during the week and the holiday before. On the way to the first dump bank, I stopped by one of my old supply banks where I have an account to get some cash. I got a few dimes and nickels, and asked as usual for large dollar coins or half dollars. I used to order boxes of halves here, but went to a different bank after getting skunk after skunk. The teller says she has $90 in the vault, and I took them all.
I got back out to my car and started driving to the dump bank, but decided to open one roll on the way. All the rolls were older-looking customer wrapped, with no writing on them, and I remember thinking, "come on, solid silver!" Well, it wasn't solid, but there was silver - 2 1968 Kennedy's. I couldn't help myself, and pulled into a parking lot to open the rest of the rolls. The second roll had 2 40%, the third had 4, and the fourth had 6! All rolls had at least 2 40% silver coins, and one had a 1964 Kennedy. The wildest thing was that some of the coins looked like they had been edge marked. Few of the coins looked silver, and the 90% was all beat up and clad-looking.
All told, I netted 24 40%, and 1 90% out of that $90 in CWR!
HH all!
