There was a picnic grove in a local forest preserve that seemed much newer than the rest of the preserve, so I had not looked into it much. Last night I looked at 1939 aerial photos and noticed the drive was there and it used to be a ball diamond, so I decided to give it a look.
In my first 5 minutes there, I found this 1959 -D Rosie at about 5-6 inches in a fairly trashy place. No other keepers today, but I am guessing there will be more to be found there.
It was an exhilarating experience seeing a silver reeded edge in the soil and knowing what was there!
