I work part-time as a painter, and travel all over the upstate and midlands of South Carolina for jobs. I always have my eyes peeled for treasures.
In late June, we painted a house in the upstate that had been foreclosed on. The prior owners were hoarders, and in the clean-out stage a different company shoveled out four big industrial dumpsters of stuff from the home. On my breaks, I visually scouted the yard, just in case something was dropped. (I don't take the detector to job sites and dig up the yards...) Looks like the clean-up crew DID miss some stuff....
The big ring with the black stone (onyx?) is marked .925! My first silver ring, and without the metal detector!! Most of the bling was found where the driveway met the grass along the downhill side. Too bad the rest of the jewelry was NOT gold.... Still looking for my first real gold find....
