I did some mding around my son's yard today with my grand daughters and found my first silver. A 1954 D Rosie. Also found some kind of ring not sure what it is or what kind of metal it contains.
Plus 2002 dime, 13 memorial pennies, a matchbox car, a piece of a watch band, copper tube and this other chunck of metal which I have no clue as to what it is. All I know is it's heavy. Thanks for looking. HH Yard Digger

Great, I love the fact you are taking your grandkids!!!! what a great way to teach 'em!!!

I think what you have their is an old copper(?) spoon handle made into a ring...that might be old.

Thanks FloodCityKid, I was thinking spoon handle ring too. I'll like to know what that object is at the lower left of bottom picture. BTW I just added that bottom picture to this post.

Congrats on the first... And I would agree on a spoon ring.
Yeah I believe you guys are right. I haven't gotten around to cleaning it up yet, but hope to in a day or two. I'll post a pic if it comes clean enough.

Thanks everyone again for your congrats and replies.

Great finds. That spoon ring is a fun find. Of coarse there is not much other than gold that gets your heart racing as you are digging and see that shine of silver down in the dirt, Congrats on your first. Thanks for posting

I knew you'd find silver! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: Now that you've "broken the ice", there will be many more to follow. Congrats again!

I remember my dad teaching one day, and now I'm giving him pointers. That's the way to do it. Congrats on your first silver. :occasion14: Here's to many more.

Thanks ddjames, ArkieBassMan, Lookn4seated and Indiana Digger, Here's a couple of pics of that ring after I cleaned it up a little. It look's like a setting may have been glued to the facing, but is missing now.
Thanks again to all for looking and for the kind replies.
